For all Mac users it's easiest to run the game through the itch.io desktop app, you can download that here: https://itch.io/app

If you don't want to use the desktop app you'll have to go through the trouble of giving yourself permissions in order to run it on Mac, follow LynesExe's steps here https://itch.io/t/656311/i-cant-open-the-game-on-mac-os-catalina-maybe-because-i...

Replace Karlson_mac.app with SGSBSS_Mac.app and Karlson with SometimesGreySometimesBlackSandSimulator

Feel free to leave a comment if it's not working on Mac and I'll try to help troubleshoot.

Thank you for playing if you did, I hope you had a good experience.

Tomorrow is my 45th birthday. I have been suffering from depression for some years and even though I have felt better recently I felt myself relapsing over the past few days. I played your game tonight and at one point tears began running down my face. It is immensely helpful and one of the most beautiful experiences in my often unhappy life. Thank you for making it.

wow, thank you so much for playing and for leaving a comment. this game means a lot to me but hasnt had many downloads and most of them have been from people i know. you’re the first person in a long time that’s downloaded it. it’s honestly made my year seeing this and it is very encouraging as i often wonder if i’m meant to be making these things or not, so sincerely thank you.

i have a few times had experiences like you describe in games and can only wish to provide similar moments of comfort and relief for others. it truly can be healing. i hope that there are better days ahead for you and i am glad that sand sim was able to help if even just a little. i hope things turn out ok for you.

and also happy birthday! :)
